Sonatas for Harpsichord by Leonardo Leo
Recently, a number of sonatas for harpsichord by Leonardo Leo have been
discovered in a collection of italian music from the 18th century which is
conserved in the library of the
Conservatory of Geneva.
Being part of an instruction on thoroughbass in
two volumes, the sonatas are noted in the form of partimenti, i.e. as
a single figured single bass voice and were obviously given as exercise for the
student.
